Salary packaged benefits are added extras offered by your employer outside of your regular salary or wages, and they are subject to Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT). Different FBT regulations apply for different sectors and industries. Some get rebates or exemptions on FBT, which means it costs them less to provide certain benefits to employees.
